Well, some people have asked me how I'm doing now that I'm back in Bolivia, and my answer is: not so good. Well, Christmas was actually very fun even if I kept falling asleep because I hardly slept in the 15 hour trip from New York. However, the day after I actually felt, for lack of a better word, trapped. I've wrote about it earlier, but I used to have many emotional problems and once I got back here I kind of started to remember all the bad things, which was a response I wasn't expecting from myself. It only lasted for a day, so now I'm fine, even though I'm bored and worrying about many things. Among them are:
*I'm very worried about my brother. My dad told me he almost failed school for the third year running... And he now gets drunk on a more regular basis, up to the point that he was so shitfaced the other day that he lost his glasses, his cellphone - and even his clothes. But more worrying still is the fact that he told me that "[He] need[s] to drink in order to be happy." I told him many times that he's basically ruining his chances to actually leave this country, but he doesn't heed my words.
*I really do fear that some of my friends will turn, or already are, alcoholics. On Saturday, I was in a friend's car (his name is Jonathan) and another friend (Maria Victoria) and we were heading to a party. The idiot decided to start drinking beer after beer, knowing full well that he was the fucking driver and ignoring my screams to stop. So he started to swerve crazily on the road while he was laughing. He could've gotten us, or someone else, killed and I'm very disappointed and angry at him.
*One of my friends actually fears for his life and doesn't want to leave his house because someone is out to get him (who it is, he won't tell me). That's why he refuses to visit friends, including me.
*The political, economic and social situation here is just as bad as ever before. Good ol' Bolivia....
So yeah, that's how my vacation is going so far. x_x

I can sympathize with being home reminding you of all the things you felt years ago -- I'm almost the same way. I dislike being home, so whenever I am, I feel very similarly to how I did many years ago... and I do not like it.
All I can say is that I hope you get through this next month the best you can so that you can start enjoying yourself again in January...
Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to going back to the States, but I'm trying to stay positive despite the circumstances.
I think all families are dysfunctional in some way or another. But I'm glad you can see the humorous side of it.
It´s gotten really ugly round here :S and about your friend that won´t go out of the house, maybe it´s becuase of gang trouble?
Mi amiga had some trouble, they broke her nose, while the police near by was just standing there, watching. You know how it is.
Anyways take care and Feliz año nuevo!
I really think it's some type of gang problem he mentioned that it was "a group of people", but this is all speculation.
I'm really sorry about your friend, the police here are mainly incompetent, corrupt fools. I hope she's all right...
Feliz año nuevo a ti tambien!
Oh, and please try to log on to AIM more often!
